The work Epigraphical Rubbings Of Buddhas And Calligraphy by Yao Hua was worth HKD 212,500.00 (€ 23,282.23) to a buyer in July 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 60,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yao Hua; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Chrysanthemums By The Stream sold at auction in October 2017 with the realized price of HKD 300,000.00 (€ 33,018.54).
