Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphic Couplet In Clerical Script by Yang Xian was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy Including Property from the Chokaido Museum Collection auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2019. The price achieved of HKD 37,500.00 (€ 4,291.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Admittedly, works by Yang Xian have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twelve-Character Couplet In Clerical Script in October 2017 with an auction result of HKD 295,000.00 (€ 32,468.23).
