Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Song Of Spring by Yan Wenliang was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 800,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at HKD 2,920,000.00 (€ 300,622.51). Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Yan Wenliang; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Night Moon sold at auction in May 2016 with the realized price of HKD 4,360,000.00 (€ 503,935.34).
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Song Of Spring von Yan Wenliang im Oktober 2014 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 800.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 2.920.000,00 (€ 300.622,51) mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Yan Wenliang; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Night Moon im Mai 2016 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 4.360.000,00 (€ 503.935,34).
