Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Forest by Yan Wenliang was sold in the Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art auction at China Guardian in Hong Kong in April 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,180,000.00 (€ 124,508.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yan Wenliang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Night Moon in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 4,360,000.00 (€ 503,935.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Forest von Yan Wenliang wurde im April 2018 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century and Contemporary Art bei China Guardian in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 1.800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.180.000,00 (€ 124.508,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yan Wenliang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Night Moon im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.360.000,00 (€ 503.935,34).
