Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2015 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern Asian Art, which included the work Secluded Path by Yan Wenliang. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 500,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 562,500.00 (€ 65,008.51) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Yan Wenliang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Night Moon in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 4,360,000.00 (€ 503,935.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2015 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Secluded Path von Yan Wenliang zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 500.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 562.500,00 (€ 65.008,51) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Yan Wenliang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Night Moon im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.360.000,00 (€ 503.935,34).
