This artwork by Yamakawa Shuho achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2020. In the From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints auction, the work Red Collar (Akai eri) sold for GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,854.64) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Yamakawa Shuho - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dancers, which sold at auction in September 2007 for USD 15,000.00 (€ 10,549.27).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Yamakawa Shuho erzielte im Juni 2020 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion From Artist to Woodblock: Japanese Prints wurde die Arbeit Red Collar (Akai eri) für GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.854,64) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.500,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Yamakawa Shuho mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dancers beobachtet, die im September 2007 für USD 15.000,00 (€ 10.549,27) versteigert wurde.
