This artwork by Xu You achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2021. In the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Seven-Character Poem In Cursive Script sold for HKD 187,500.00 (€ 19,820.20) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 100,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu You achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script in June this year with an auction result of HKD 6,804,000.00 (€ 795,046.15).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Xu You erzielte im Mai 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Seven-Character Poem In Cursive Script für HKD 187.500,00 (€ 19.820,20) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 100.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu You erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script im Juni diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.804.000,00 (€ 795.046,15).
