This artwork by Xu Shiying achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Hong Kong in February 2021. In the Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy In Regular Script sold for HKD 56,250.00 (€ 5,995.72) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 20,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xu Shiying have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu in April 2017 with an auction result of HKD 212,500.00 (€ 25,082.61).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xu Shiying erzielte im Februar 2021 bei Christies in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Dawn of Spring: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy In Regular Script für HKD 56.250,00 (€ 5.995,72) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 20.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Shiying auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Kaishu im April 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 212.500,00 (€ 25.082,61).
