Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Seven Character Couplet In Seal Script by Xu Sangeng was auctioned at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 23,600.00 (€ 2,657.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Sangeng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standard Script Calligraphy in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 1,025,000.00 (€ 108,115.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Seven Character Couplet In Seal Script von Xu Sangeng kam im Oktober 2018 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 23.600,00 (€ 2.657,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Sangeng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Standard Script Calligraphy im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.025.000,00 (€ 108.115,29).
