Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Xu Sangeng achieved an unexpectedly high price at China Guardian in Hong Kong in October 2019. In the Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy auction, the work Couplet In Clerical Script sold for HKD 129,800.00 (€ 14,835.95) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 55,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xu Sangeng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Standard Script Calligraphy in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 1,025,000.00 (€ 108,115.29).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xu Sangeng erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei China Guardian in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy wurde die Arbeit Couplet In Clerical Script für HKD 129.800,00 (€ 14.835,95) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 55.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Sangeng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Standard Script Calligraphy im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.025.000,00 (€ 108.115,29).
