Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Christies in Paris held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script by Xu Sangeng. The price achieved of HKD 113,400.00 (€ 13,250.77) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Xu Sangeng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Standard Script Calligraphy in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 1,025,000.00 (€ 108,115.29).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Christies in Paris die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script von Xu Sangeng zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 113.400,00 (€ 13.250,77) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Sangeng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Standard Script Calligraphy im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.025.000,00 (€ 108.115,29).
