It achieved a price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 9,980.40), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 72%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xu Sangeng achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Standard Script Calligraphy in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 1,025,000.00 (€ 108,115.29).

Die Arbeit Couplet In Seal Script von Xu Sangeng wurde im März 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 9.980,40) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 72%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Xu Sangeng erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Standard Script Calligraphy im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.025.000,00 (€ 108.115,29).
