The work Calligraphy by Xu Sangeng was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2012. It achieved a price of HKD 437,500.00 (€ 45,575.87), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 46%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xu Sangeng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Standard Script Calligraphy, which sold at auction in December 2020 for HKD 1,025,000.00 (€ 108,115.29).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy von Xu Sangeng wurde im Mai 2012 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von HKD 437.500,00 (€ 45.575,87) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 46%. Für andere Arbeiten von Xu Sangeng mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Standard Script Calligraphy beobachtet, die im Dezember 2020 für HKD 1.025.000,00 (€ 108.115,29) versteigert wurde.
