This price was achieved in the auction Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy at China Guardian in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 40,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Xu Sangeng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Standard Script Calligraphy in December 2020 with an auction result of HKD 1,025,000.00 (€ 108,115.29).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Seal Script von Xu Sangeng war einem Käufer im Mai 2016 HKD 141.600,00 (€ 16.366,34) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Classical Chinese Painting and Calligraphy bei China Guardian in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 40.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Xu Sangeng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Standard Script Calligraphy im Dezember 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.025.000,00 (€ 108.115,29).
