This artwork by Xu Qu achieved an unexpectedly high price at POLY in Hong Kong in June 2021. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips auction, the work Currency War - RMB 100 (Old) sold for HKD 214,200.00 (€ 23,267.67) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 90,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Xu Qu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Route Yellow And Blue, which sold at auction in April 2017 for HKD 400,000.00 (€ 47,214.32).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Xu Qu erzielte im Juni 2021 bei POLY in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art and Design Day Sale in association with Phillips wurde die Arbeit Currency War - RMB 100 (Old) für HKD 214.200,00 (€ 23.267,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 90.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Xu Qu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Route Yellow And Blue beobachtet, die im April 2017 für HKD 400.000,00 (€ 47.214,32) versteigert wurde.
