Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2017 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale, which included the work Chess Match Of The Century: Walled City Iii by Jiang Xu. The price achieved of HKD 1,187,500.00 (€ 140,167.51) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jiang Xu have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Twelve Views of a Sunflower Field XII in November 2011 with an auction result of HKD 11,300,000.00 (€ 1,081,030.25).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2017 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Chess Match Of The Century: Walled City Iii von Jiang Xu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 1.187.500,00 (€ 140.167,51) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jiang Xu auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Twelve Views of a Sunflower Field XII im November 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 11.300.000,00 (€ 1.081.030,25).
