The work Osmanthus by Xiang Yuanbian was worth HKD 400,000.00 (€ 38,266.56) to a buyer in November 2011. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 70,000.00 many times over. This high result makes Osmanthus the most expensive artwork by Xiang Yuanbian that we have observed at auctions so far.
