Auction result misses estimated price range
In March 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Hove To For The Pilot by Xanthus Russell Smith for USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,343.78). This price was achieved in the auction American Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Xanthus Russell Smith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A South Carolina Coastal Scene and Hilton Head Port Royal, South Carolina: Two Works in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 91,000.00 (€ 61,955.34).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im März 2019 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Hove To For The Pilot von Xanthus Russell Smith für USD 6.000,00 (€ 5.343,78) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion American Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00.
