The work Fishermen Under Willow Tree by Wu Wei was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Sothebys in New York in September 2014. It achieved a price of USD 425,000.00 (€ 336,553.69), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 70%. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Wu Wei; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Two Sceneries by a Lake sold at auction in May 2008 with the realized price of HKD 7,607,500.00 (€ 626,298.68).

Die Arbeit Fishermen Under Willow Tree von Wu Wei wurde im September 2014 in der Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 425.000,00 (€ 336.553,69) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 70%. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Wu Wei; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Two Sceneries by a Lake im Mai 2008 mit dem Hammerpreis von HKD 7.607.500,00 (€ 626.298,68).
