Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Today No Water by Wu Shanzhuan was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2020, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 50,000.00 – 70,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 43,750.00 (€ 5,151.76). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wu Shanzhuan achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Paradise in April 2014 with an auction result of HKD 875,000.00 (€ 81,380.68).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Today No Water von Wu Shanzhuan im April 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 50.000,00 – 70.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 43.750,00 (€ 5.151,76) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wu Shanzhuan erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Paradise im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 875.000,00 (€ 81.380,68).
