In May 2005 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY, which included the work Calligraphy In Running Standard Script by Wu Rongguang. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 30,000.00 (€ 3,124.14), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wu Rongguang have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy In Xingshu in October 2013 with an auction result of HKD 275,000.00 (€ 26,096.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion FINE CLASSICAL CHINESE PAINTINGS AND CALLIGRAPHY durch, in der auch die Arbeit Calligraphy In Running Standard Script von Wu Rongguang zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 30.000,00 (€ 3.124,14) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wu Rongguang auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy In Xingshu im Oktober 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 275.000,00 (€ 26.096,07).
