Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Langscape After Wang Meng by Wu Li was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 3,800,000.00 – 5,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 3,967,500.00 (€ 326,972.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wu Li - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring Mountains In Seclusion, which sold at auction in October 2016 for HKD 6,080,000.00 (€ 715,489.87).
