Artwork auctioned at seven times the upper estimate price
The work Inspirational Message To Students by Wu Dacheng was worth HKD 630,000.00 (€ 67,451.37) to a buyer in April 2021. This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Sothebys in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. Admittedly, works by Wu Dacheng have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu in April 2015 with an auction result of HKD 5,360,000.00 (€ 619,458.88).

Die Arbeit Inspirational Message To Students von Wu Dacheng war einem Käufer im April 2021 HKD 630.000,00 (€ 67.451,37) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Paintings bei Sothebys in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wu Dacheng auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet In Zhuanshu im April 2015 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.360.000,00 (€ 619.458,88).
