In March 2019 Sothebys in London held the auction Contemporary Art Day Auction, which included the work Ohne Titel by Wols. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,918.42), 38% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wols achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sans Titre in February 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,617,250.00 (€ 3,082,901.53).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 38 % übertroffen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Contemporary Art Day Auction durch, in der auch die Arbeit Ohne Titel von Wols zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.918,42) und damit 38% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wols erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sans Titre im Februar 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.617.250,00 (€ 3.082.901,53).
