Auction result well in line with expectations
In May last year Bonhams in Hong Kong held the auction Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art, which included the work Water Festival by Win Pe. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 80,000.00 – 200,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 102,000.00 (€ 12,109.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Win Pe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Strawberry Seller, which sold at auction in May last year for HKD 267,600.00 (€ 31,769.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in Hong Kong die Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Water Festival von Win Pe zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 80.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 102.000,00 (€ 12.109,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Win Pe mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Strawberry Seller beobachtet, die im Mai letzten Jahres für HKD 267.600,00 (€ 31.769,86) versteigert wurde.
