Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Irrawaddy as Seen from Above by Win Pe was sold in the Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art auction at Bonhams in Hong Kong in December last year. The price achieved of HKD 14,025.00 (€ 1,680.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 11,000.00 – 23,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Win Pe achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Strawberry Seller in May last year with an auction result of HKD 267,600.00 (€ 31,769.86).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Irrawaddy as Seen from Above von Win Pe wurde im Dezember letzten Jahres in der Auktion Southeast Asian Modern & Contemporary Art bei Bonhams in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 14.025,00 (€ 1.680,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 11.000,00 – 23.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Win Pe erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Strawberry Seller im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 267.600,00 (€ 31.769,86).
