Auction result well in line with expectations
The work His Only Treasure by William Stewart MacGeorge was auctioned at Christies in London in March 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,640.00 (€ 3,844.89) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Stewart MacGeorge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nutting in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 66,325.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit His Only Treasure von William Stewart MacGeorge kam im März 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.640,00 (€ 3.844,89) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Stewart MacGeorge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Nutting im Oktober 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 45.410,00 (€ 66.325,43).
