Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fishing In A Wooded Burn by William Stewart MacGeorge was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Christies in London in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 4,462.01) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Stewart MacGeorge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nutting in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 66,325.43).
