Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Children Playing by a Beach by William Stewart MacGeorge was sold in the Scottish Art auction at Bonhams in Paris in October this year. The price achieved of GBP 896.00 (€ 1,028.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 700.00 – 1,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Stewart MacGeorge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Nutting in October 2003 with an auction result of GBP 45,410.00 (€ 66,325.43).
