Auction result well in line with expectations
In March last year Bonhams in London held the auction 19th Century and British Impressionist Art, which included the work The Gipsy's Haunt, New Forest by William Shayer Snr.. The price achieved of GBP 7,012.50 (€ 8,314.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Shayer Snr. have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The itinerant rabbit seller in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 36,425.00 (€ 57,963.65).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März letzten Jahres führte Bonhams in London die Auktion 19th Century and British Impressionist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Gipsy's Haunt, New Forest von William Shayer Snr. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 7.012,50 (€ 8.314,11) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Shayer Snr. auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The itinerant rabbit seller im November 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 36.425,00 (€ 57.963,65).
