Auction result well in line with expectations

The work Coming Back from Market by William Shayer Snr. was auctioned at Sothebys in London in April last year. The price achieved of GBP 4,032.00 (€ 4,808.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Shayer Snr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The itinerant rabbit seller in November 2001 with an auction result of GBP 36,425.00 (€ 57,963.65).

Die Arbeit Coming Back from Market von William Shayer Snr. kam im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.032,00 (€ 4.808,02) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden.
