Auction result misses estimated price range
In September last year a collector was able to acquire the work Two Prints: From Pig to Pork and Rail Yard by William Sharp for USD 255.00 (€ 260.66). This price was achieved in the auction Prints & Photographs at Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts and was even below the estimate range of USD 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Sharp achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Watching Over his Sister in January 2000 with an auction result of USD 2,760.00 (€ 2,828.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im September letzten Jahres konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Two Prints: From Pig to Pork and Rail Yard von William Sharp für USD 255,00 (€ 260,66) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Prints & Photographs bei Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 400,00 – 600,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Sharp erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Watching Over his Sister im Januar 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.760,00 (€ 2.828,74).
