Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by William Samuel Horton could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in March 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Art auction, the work Beach Scene changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,102.27) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Samuel Horton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Punch and Judy on the Beach in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,638.17).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von William Samuel Horton konnte im März 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion American Art wechselte die Arbeit Beach Scene für USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.102,27) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Samuel Horton auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Punch and Judy on the Beach im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.638,17).
