Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art Online, which included the work A Country Road In England by William Samuel Horton. The price achieved of USD 4,000.00 (€ 3,626.80) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Samuel Horton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Punch and Judy on the Beach in November 2018 with an auction result of USD 43,750.00 (€ 38,638.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Country Road In England von William Samuel Horton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 4.000,00 (€ 3.626,80) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Samuel Horton erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Punch and Judy on the Beach im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 38.638,17).
