Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2004 Christies in Melbourne held the auction AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS, which included the work Bush Clearing by William Rubery Bennett. The price achieved of AUD 9,560.00 (€ 5,568.44) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Rubery Bennett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Storm Clouds over Silverdale (Close to Camden, NSW), which sold at auction in May 2002 for AUD 30,550.00 (€ 18,515.15).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2004 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bush Clearing von William Rubery Bennett zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 9.560,00 (€ 5.568,44) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von William Rubery Bennett mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Storm Clouds over Silverdale (Close to Camden, NSW) beobachtet, die im Mai 2002 für AUD 30.550,00 (€ 18.515,15) versteigert wurde.
