Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Distant Landscape by William Rubery Bennett was sold in the AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS auction at Christies in Melbourne in May 2004. The price achieved of AUD 5,736.00 (€ 3,351.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Rubery Bennett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Storm Clouds over Silverdale (Close to Camden, NSW) in May 2002 with an auction result of AUD 30,550.00 (€ 18,515.15).

Die Arbeit Distant Landscape von William Rubery Bennett wurde im Mai 2004 in der Auktion AUSTRALIAN, INTERNATIONAL AND CONTEMPORARY PAINTINGS bei Christies in Melbourne versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 5.736,00 (€ 3.351,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Rubery Bennett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Storm Clouds over Silverdale (Close to Camden, NSW) im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 30.550,00 (€ 18.515,15).
