Sold at the lower estimate price
The work A shore scene in the North-East by William Roxby Beverley was sold in the Old Master, 19th Century & British Drawings & Watercolours auction at Christies in London in December 2010. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,740.00) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Roxby Beverley achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Scarborough from the strand in January 2003 with an auction result of GBP 11,950.00 (€ 18,302.78).
