Auction result well in line with expectations
The work At The Gym by William Roberts was sold in the Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in October last year. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,900.00 (€ 22,018.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Roberts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Chess Players in May 2012 with an auction result of GBP 1,161,250.00 (€ 1,446,866.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit At The Gym von William Roberts wurde im Oktober letzten Jahres in der Auktion Modern British & Irish Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 18.900,00 (€ 22.018,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 15.000,00 – 20.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von William Roberts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Chess Players im Mai 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.161.250,00 (€ 1.446.866,41).
