Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work View Of Constantinople: The Shepherdess by William Purser was sold in the British & Continental Pictures including Sporting and Marine Paintings auction at Sothebys in Olympia in July 2007. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 840.00 (€ 1,247.59). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by William Purser achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Constantinople, showing the Topkapi and the Suleimaniye with the Sultan's Barge in the foreground in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,156.28).
