Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Ducal Palace, Venice by William Purser was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,544.99) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Purser have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Constantinople, showing the Topkapi and the Suleimaniye with the Sultan's Barge in the foreground in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,156.28).
