Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2012 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Art, which included the work Promenade with elephants in India by William Purser. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,875.00 (€ 2,321.70) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00. Admittedly, works by William Purser have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Constantinople, showing the Topkapi and the Suleimaniye with the Sultan's Barge in the foreground in June 2012 with an auction result of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 13,156.28).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2012 führte Christies in London die Auktion 19th Century European Art including Orientalist Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Promenade with elephants in India von William Purser zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.875,00 (€ 2.321,70) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von William Purser auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Constantinople, showing the Topkapi and the Suleimaniye with the Sultan's Barge in the foreground im Juni 2012 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 10.625,00 (€ 13.156,28).
