In March 2021 Christies in London held the auction First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online, which included the work Gray People Pink Sunshine by William Pope.L. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 10,000.00 (€ 11,747.42), 67% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Pope.L - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I, which sold at auction in April 2017 for GBP 21,875.00 (€ 25,976.94).

Im März 2021 führte Christies in London die Auktion First Open: Post-War & Contemporary Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Gray People Pink Sunshine von William Pope.L zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 10.000,00 (€ 11.747,42) und damit 67% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von William Pope.L mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Eight works: (i) White People are the Beef of the Fire; (ii) White People are Hoi Vuc Vietnam 1965; (iii) White People are my Tears; (iv) Black People are a positive cancer; (v) White People are nice to their I beobachtet, die im April 2017 für GBP 21.875,00 (€ 25.976,94) versteigert wurde.
