In June 2021 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale, which included the work Urn and Flowers on a Table by Sir William Nicholson. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 107,100.00 (€ 124,799.34), 34% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Sir William Nicholson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Sunflowers in March this year with an auction result of GBP 756,000.00 (€ 860,096.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 34 % übertroffen
Im Juni 2021 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Post War British Art Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Urn and Flowers on a Table von Sir William Nicholson zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 107.100,00 (€ 124.799,34) und damit 34% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Sir William Nicholson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Sunflowers im März diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 756.000,00 (€ 860.096,03).
