A top price for Sir William Nicholson - as previously expected
In March this year Christies in London held the auction Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale, which included the work Sunflowers by Sir William Nicholson. It changed hands for a price of GBP 756,000.00 (€ 860,096.03) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Sunflowers is the most expensive artwork by Sir William Nicholson that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im März diesen Jahres führte Christies in London die Auktion Modern British and Irish Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sunflowers von Sir William Nicholson zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 756.000,00 (€ 860.096,03) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Sunflowers das teuerste Kunstwerk von Sir William Nicholson, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
