Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Sir William Nicholson achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in London in November 2021. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Lilies of the Valley sold for GBP 237,750.00 (€ 279,140.87) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Sir William Nicholson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunflowers, which sold at auction in March this year for GBP 756,000.00 (€ 860,096.03).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Sir William Nicholson erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Lilies of the Valley für GBP 237.750,00 (€ 279.140,87) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Sir William Nicholson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunflowers beobachtet, die im März diesen Jahres für GBP 756.000,00 (€ 860.096,03) versteigert wurde.
