Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Pictures, which included the work The entrance to the Grand Canal with the Customs House and Santa Maria della Salute beyond; and A Venetian backwater by William Meadows. The price achieved of GBP 4,112.50 (€ 6,721.72) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Meadows - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work On The Grand Canal, Venice, Before The Fall of The Tower; And Santa Maria Della Salute, Venice, which sold at auction in May 2005 for GBP 15,600.00 (€ 23,030.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im November 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit The entrance to the Grand Canal with the Customs House and Santa Maria della Salute beyond; and A Venetian backwater von William Meadows zur Versteigerung kam.
