Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work View of Westminster from across the Thames; and View of St. Paul's and Blackfriars Bridge by William Marlow was sold in the The London Sale auction at Christies in London in May 2002. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 50,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 53,775.00 (€ 84,212.38). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Marlow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham, which sold at auction in January 2007 for USD 384,000.00 (€ 295,430.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit View of Westminster from across the Thames; and View of St. Paul's and Blackfriars Bridge von William Marlow wurde im Mai 2002 in der Auktion The London Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 50.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 53.775,00 (€ 84.212,38) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Marlow mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham beobachtet, die im Januar 2007 für USD 384.000,00 (€ 295.430,07) versteigert wurde.
