Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2015 a collector was able to acquire the work View Of Saint Peter'S, Rome by William Marlow for USD 293,000.00 (€ 259,521.70). This price was achieved in the auction Master Paintings: Part I at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00 set by the auction house. Other works by William Marlow have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in January 2007 by the work A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham at USD 384,000.00 (€ 295,430.07).
