Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Bay Of Naples With Santa Maria Degli Angeli; And The Arno Towards The Ponte Alle Grigio by William Marlow was auctioned at Christies in New York in April 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 36,367.41) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by William Marlow have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham in January 2007 with an auction result of USD 384,000.00 (€ 295,430.07).
