Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Rome, A View Of Saint Peter'S Basilica by William Marlow was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2019. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 87,500.00 (€ 103,414.76). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by William Marlow - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham, which sold at auction in January 2007 for USD 384,000.00 (€ 295,430.07).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Rome, A View Of Saint Peter'S Basilica von William Marlow kam im Dezember 2019 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 80.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 87.500,00 (€ 103.414,76) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von William Marlow mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A View From Richmond, Looking Towards Twickenham beobachtet, die im Januar 2007 für USD 384.000,00 (€ 295.430,07) versteigert wurde.
